A matching gift is a great way for a donor to double their contribution to Habitat for Humanity of Iredell County. Many companies (both large and small) offer employee matching gift programs.
What is a matching gift? When an employee makes a donation to a non-profit organization, the corporation will “match” that donation with an equal (or greater) amount to the same group. Many individuals may work for companies with matching gift programs and can double the impact of their donation by soliciting a matching gift from their employer.
Here are the steps in the matching gift process:
Step One: Confirm that the company you are applying with will match for Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity of Iredell County’s 501(c)(3) number is 56-1486033. The only way to know for sure is to ask your human resources department.
Step Two: The donor makes a donation (either online at http://www.habitatiredell.org/ or via mail) and then initiates the matching gift process with their company. Most matching gift companies have either a paper matching gift process or an online matching gift process (Such as EasyMatch or CyberGrants). If the matching company approves the matching gift, the company will send a check for the matching gift according to their company guidelines. It is important for the donor to designate Habitat for Humanity of Iredell County as the recipient of the matching gift.

A gift to Habitat is a great way to remember your friends and families on birthdays, anniversaries and holidays! To specify a gift in honor of someone, please include their name and address. We'll send a card to the person being honored, informing them that you've given a gift in their name. House Sponsorship In sponsoring or co-sponsoring a Habitat house, businesses, churches, individuals, and other organizations partner with low-income families to provide a safe and affordable place to live. This team building opportunity is a great way for your organization to get involved!
